The Foundation for Excellence Celebrates 40 Years!
Since 1983, the Foundation for Excellence in Public Education has been working in partnership with the Clarke County School District recognizing the inspiring work of their educators, staff, and students. Throughout 2023, the Foundation for Excellence will celebrate this continued partnership through different activities and announcements.
$40 for 40 years Campaign
Dear Friend of the Foundation for Excellence,
Where were you 40 years ago – or were you even born? At some time during the past 40 years,
you connected to the mission and purpose of the Foundation for Excellence in Public Education
in Athens-Clarke County, Georgia!
You may have been an award winner, trustee, student, community friend, parent, award reader,
administrator, award donor, CCSD support staff, or volunteer. Each connection shares in the
success we celebrate this year – Happy 40th Year to The Foundation for Excellence.
From blossoming dreams in 1983 to 40+ annual awards and grants in 2023, the FFE honors the
passion, dedication, and excellence of CCSD teachers, staff, and administrators. The FFE directly
impacts students through grant programming and individual achievement recognitions.
We are sharing the opportunity to celebrate! We are asking for gifts of “$40 for 40 Years” to
support the necessary annual operational needs that are independent of investment earnings. If
you choose to make a birthday gift to the Foundation, donations may be made by mailing a
donation to:
Foundation for Excellence in Public Education
1860 Barnett Shoals Road Suite #483

excellence in the Clarke County School District.

In December 2022, an all call was made to all Clarke County School District students to submit art work for the FFE's 40th anniversary. Over 30 entries were submitted for voting on the Foundation's Facebook page. In February 2023, the winner was announced! Congratulations to Emma Raccoursier Altamirano, a 3rd grader at Winterville Elementary School.
